The big story…

TV Series Renewals (and Cancelations) Announced

TV Networks have just announced renewals and cancelations for the upcoming season and there are definitely a few surprises. CBS canceled Life in Pieces and Happy Together; ABC canceled Whiskey CavalierSpeechless, and Splitting Up Together; Fox canceled The Passage and Proven Innocent; and NBC canceled I Feel Bad. But no need to feel down — a lot of shows were renewed as well — although one actress was less than thrilled.

Sweden Will Reopen Rape Case Against Julian Assange

Since Julian Assange’s arrest in London, Swedish prosecutors have announced their intention to reopen the 7-year-old rape case against Assange that led to his refuge in the Embassy over fear of extradition. The WikiLeaks founder is currently serving a 50-week prison sentence in London for jumping bail in 2012.

Turning Point USA at University of Nevada Faces Controversy

On Monday, April 29th, an officially recognized chapter of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) was tabling on campus to promote their conservative views as well as club membership. One of the posters on display said, “Build the Wall,” a reference to President Trump’s proposed physical border wall along the southern U.S.-Mexican border. One student, Alexander Kostan, in protest, knocked down the sign while the club members were tabling. The president of the club then attempted to push Kostan to the ground. China Likely to Retaliate Against US for Tariff Increase

President Trump’s top economic advisor Larry Kudlow said Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping may meet up next month at the G20 economic summit it Japan, and believes the Chinese will retaliate against the US for tariff increase last week. CNN reports, “He said, ‘I think I do,’ when asked whether US officials expect the Chinese to retaliate for the tariff hike put on by the US last week when it increased the rate to 25% on $200 billion of Chinese goods.” Kudlow adds that despite the tariff being placed on China, the US will pay somewhat in that the economy will feel some impact from the tariff.

Shaky Knees 2019: Catching up With Dallon Weekes

After strolling almost nonchalantly onto the stage at noon, opening Shaky Knees for the weekend and singing a song about the woes of the poor bands that have to perform first at concerts, iDKHOW was met by a raving crowd of about a thousand. Not too bad for a group who started out denying that they even existed in the first place.
