Parents Take Son to Court After He Refuses to Leave Their Home

In Syracuse, New York, State Supreme Court Justice Donald Greenwood ordered a 30-year-old man to move out of his parents home after they went to court to eject him.

Michael Rotondo ignored several eviction notices and the offered help his parents gave him, and argued that, although he knew his parents wanted him out, since he’s a family member, he’s entitled to six months more time.

Michael Rotondo’s parents, Mark and Christina Rotondo didn’t give their reasons for wanting him out of the house.

“Michael, here is $1,100 from us to you so you can find a place to stay,” a Feb. 18 letter his parents left him reads, ““There are jobs available even for those with a poor work history like you. Get one — you have to work!”

In court, Micheal Rotondo argued with Greenwood for 30 minutes, even refusing his orders to make up with his parents, who were in the same room, watching the whole time.

According to AP News, “The judge instructed the parents’ lawyer to draft an eviction order. Attorney Anthony Adorante said it would give Rotondo reasonable time to vacate.”
