Rapper Cardi B Feuds with Conservative Tomi Lahren On Twitter Over Government Shutdown

Rapper and hip-hop artist Cardi B recently got into a Twitter spar online between conservative commentator Tomi Lahren over the shutdown of the U.S. federal government. It all started when the Grammy-nominated Bronx artist, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, took to her Instagram account and make a video criticizing the Trump administration over the government shutdown as well as federal workers not getting paid and said that “our country is in a hellhole right now. All for a wall.”

Once the rant went viral, Lahren, a Fox News pundit, weighed in on Cardi B’s opinion.

Afterwards, Cardi B took to Twitter to directly criticise Lahren’s tweet directly towards her.

Lahren then responds back.

Then Cardi B.

Once again, Lahren responds back.

While this ensues between Cardi B and Lahren, New York City Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, whose congressional district represents some parts of the Bronx and Queens, also got into the fray.

This is not the first time Cardi B has gotten political in recent years. When the rapper praised former U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt as well as Social Security in a 2018 interview with GQ Magazine, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders tweeted in support of B’s position to protect and expand Social Security.

Cardi B also endorsed Cynthia Nixon’s guberntorial primary challenge against Andrew Cuomo in New York.
