Stream Now Using Apple Music’s Browser Secret

Apple Music users can now stream music on web browsers. On Sunday June 3, a Reddit user discovered a hidden exploit that allows users to listen to full versions of songs, instead of the small previews they may have seen in the past, Gizmodo reports.

All that Apple Music users have to do is go to the Apple Music tool for marketers by accessing tools.applemusic.com and signing in with an Apple ID.

“The site will play full versions of songs instead of just the previews you might have previously seen on the web. The site also lets you search through the complete Apple Music catalog,” Gizmodo said. “Overall, it functions like a slightly confusing, yet still pretty useful web client for Apple Music.”

According to Gizmodo, once logged in, a search bar can be accessed near the center of the page. Allowing users to lookup songs, artists, albums, and playlists, the search bar has additional option to save songs to personal playlists and to add songs to libraries.

Even though users can do many of the same actions like on the application, there are still features that cannot be done on the web browser exploit.

“However, plenty of other features you might expect from an official Apple Music web service aren’t included, like the ability to create custom playlists,” Gizmodo said. “As it stands today, this tool was clearly not intended to be an Apple-sanctioned way for the average person to stream Apple Music in their browser.”

This hidden web browser integration has brought a lot of speculation as to whether or not Apple plans on making an official browser for streaming. Competitors of Apple Music, such as Spotify and Pandora, already have working web browsers accessible for users. Only time will tell if this is something Apple Music will take into consideration.
