‘The Band’s Visit’ Sweeps the Tony Awards

The 2018 Tony Awards last night was full of surprising moments: Robert DeNiro cursed President Trump on stage, the survivors of the Parkland shooting performed “Seasons of Love” from Rent, and Andrew Garfield made an emotional tribute to the LGBTQ community.

Hosted by Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles at Radio City Music Hall, there were a few clear front-runners throughout the night. “The Band’s Visit,” a Broadway musical based on the film of the same name, took home multiple awards from several categories, more specifically, 10 out of 26.
