“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” for Marvelous Wins

Sunday night was a big win for the Amazon Prime TV show, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” with eight wins for the night.

Not sure of what “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is? Well, it is a Prime TV Show that I never thought I was going to get attached to. The comedic show takes place in the 1950’s in New York City which stars Rachel Brosnahan who plays Miriam or “Midge” who eventually finds herself becoming a stand up comedic. She goes to a cafe titled, “The Gaslight Cafe” to give her husband, Joel (who is a struggling stand up comedic) feedback. Midge eventually finds out that her husband is having an affair to the point where she gets drunk and happens to end up back at The Gaslight Cafe where she realizes that she does have a future in stand up comedy.

A few nights ago, the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards was held. The Amazon show was nominated for the following awards: Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Only one of which the TV show did not win.

When Rachel accepted her award just like her character Midge, (who is destined for change,) and said, “about a woman who’s finding her voice anew, and it’s something that’s happening all over the country right now.” Then encouraged all viewers to go vote.
