Uber to Test New Loyalty Program With Higher Pay and College Tuition for Drivers

Top rated Uber drivers now have new incentives to look forward to.

On Thursday, Uber announced a new loyalty program, Uber Pro, that will offer exciting perks to their drivers. The program will offer anything from free dent repairs and higher pay to a free online education.

According to Uber, the program will be piloted in 8 different cities (Seattle, Chicago, New Orleans, Phoenix, Orlando, Tampa, Denver, New Jersey). The company prides itself in having diverse drivers who are all in different walks of life. Uber Pro is designed to recognize the commitment of those drivers and allow them to better support themselves and their families.

For many drivers, their goals go beyond Uber. For that reason, the company decided to partner with Arizona State University (ASU) to provide eligible drivers with access to free education. Drivers can choose from non-degree certificate options or over 80 undergraduate degrees through ASU Online, one of the top online degree programs in the country.

Tuition is 100% covered by Uber, and drivers can transfer their tuition coverage to a spouse, domestic partner, child, sibling, parent, legal guardian or dependent.

“To unlock rewards, drivers need to maintain at least a 4.85 star rating and a low cancellation rate,” Uber said on Thursday. “Drivers earn points on every trip during fixed 3-month periods, and the points they earn in one period go toward unlocking status (and more rewards) in the next.”

Uber is taking the initiative to rewards its employees in a way that will help them reach their goals and better their future.
