Friday Scoop: Black Friday
The big story…
It’s Black Friday!
Ah, Black Friday. The day of aggressive shopping in pursuit of bargain deals. But Black Friday actually plays a much more important role for retailers than you might expect. According to Salesforce, Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined will make up 40% of this year’s total retail revenue — and mobile purchases will be a crucial part of that percentage. In fact, U.S. shoppers already spent $1.75 billion online before 5 p.m. yesterday, bringing online spending up 28.6 percent from last year. And according to analysts’ predictions the total Thanksgiving Day sales were around $3.7 billion. In fact, it’s Thanksgiving Day, not Black Friday, that is one of the fastest growing online retail days in the year — meaning some Black Friday sales were already sold out before Black Friday.

News Flash: Parade Singers Are Lip Syncing
John Legend came to Rita Ora’s defense after the singer suffered a lip sync blunder during the parade.
Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don't have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance. Hope y'all enjoyed it anyway. Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100% live! https://t.co/C2bGj63AF6
