Study Finds 25% of College Students Sleep Text
A new study from Villanova University finds that adolescents and college students are experiencing an increase in a phenomenon called “sleep texting.” Sleep texting is exactly what it sounds like: Texting in your sleep without the awareness, or often memory, of doing so. In the study, about 25 percent of students reported sleep texting at some point and, of those students, 72 percent did not remember the incident. Although it may sound silly, these episodes are a sign of a much bigger issue: sleep deprivation. What happens when you can’t unplug, even while you’re sleeping?

CNN severed ties with commentator Marc Lamont Hill over a controversial comment in support of Palestinian rights that some have interpreted as a call for the elimination of Israel. Hill used the phrase “free Palestine from the river to the sea” in a speech to the U.N. on Wednesday, sparking a debate over the expression’s connection to Hamas and other Palestinian groups.

Indian Authorities Hesitant to Retrieve Body of U.S. Christian Missionary
John Allen Chau, an Alabama native, was killed by the Sentinelese, a completely isolated indigenous people on North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal, after he entered their territory hoping to convert the tribe to Christianity. Marriott Reveals Data Breach Affecting 500 Million
Marriott just announced that the hotel chain has experienced a massive data breach, compromising the information of about 500 million guests. The information stolen includes names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, passport numbers, etc. As if this wasn’t bad enough, Marriot says the breach was first detected in September but may have happened as early as 2014.

Patagonia has announced that the outdoor clothing company will be donating the $10 million it saved in GOP corporate tax cuts to various environmental groups.
