Monday Scoop: Eight Rescued From Cave

Thai Cave Drama Continues, Eight Boys Now Rescued
The operation to save twelve soccer players and their coach stuck in a cave in Thailand have concluded for the day, as eight boys have now been removed from the cave, according to multiple reports. Four boys and the coach remain trapped.
Rain is possible over the next few days is threatening to undo the effort the workers put into draining the cave. But observers are hopeful the weather will hold and all the boys and their coach can be rescued.
It is estimated it takes rescuers about five hours to remove each boy, two hours of moving through the cave, with an hour of rest in between. That’s a nearly ten hour round trip for rescuers.
Trump Expected to Announce SCOUTS Nominee Today
President Trump tweeted that he will be “announcing my final decision on the United States Supreme Court Justice at 9:00pmE tomorrow night at the @WhiteHouse. An exceptional person will be chosen!”
Democrats are preparing for a confirmation hearing battle, while most Republicans are expected to line up behind Trump’s pick.

Starbucks Done With Plastic Straws
Citing an increasing threat to the world’s oceans, Starbucks announced this morning that they would eliminate plastic straws from all of their locations worldwide by 2020.
The coffee giant started and is still based in Seattle, one of America’s first cities to ban plastic drinking straws and utensils completely. Starbucks already offers alternative straws in its Seattle locations, and plans to implement straws made from biodegradable materials like paper and create specially designed lids.
But will that Iced Caramel Machiatto taste different through a paper straw 🤔?

So, if you weren’t on the internet this weekend, this news may come as a surprise: Justin Bieber is engaged to Hailey Baldwin.
The 24-year-old proposed at a Bahamas resort, according to TMZ. His security staff reportedly asked restaurant patrons to put away their phones before the star proposed.
