Tuesday Scoop: Remembering Paul
Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen Dies
Investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist co-founder of Microsoft Paul Allen died Monday.
CNN reports, “Allen was 65, his investment firm Vulcan said in a statement announcing his death. He died in Seattle from complications related to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma two weeks after Allen said he was being treated for the disease.”
Microsoft was co-founded by Allen with Bill Gates in 1975, several years after they met at a private school in Seattle. Allen left the company in 1982 after his first Hodgkin’s disease diagnosis. Gates said yesterday he was “heartbroken” on hearing the news.
Judge Tosses Stormy Daniels Defamation Lawsuit Against Donald Trump
A federal judge dismissed adult film star Stormy Daniels’ defamation lawsuit against President Trump late yesterday.
The origins of the saga started when Daniels claimed Trump defamed her when he suggested she had lied about being threatened to keep quiet about their relationship, and to invalidate a hush agreement over an alleged affair.
Daniels claimed she was warned by an unidentified man to keep quiet about the affair in 2011, after she gave an interview to a gossip magazine about her encounters. In April, Trump responded in the most Trump way possible, over Twitter.
District Judge S. James Otero wrote that “the Court agrees with Mr. Trump’s argument because the tweet in question constitutes ‘rhetorical hyperbole’ normally associated with politics and public discourse in the United States.”

“The synthesizer,” Alessandra writes, “is a hybrid instrument combining the piano and electronic technology. It has been used in various genres of music — hitting a peak on many songs created in the 80s — and was a landmark invention for the history of music.”
