Robert Mueller’s Investigation Comes to an End

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation has come to an end and his report states that neither Donald Trump’s campaign nor his associates conspired with Russia, according to Attorney General William Barr. CNN reports, “Mueller’s investigation of whether the President committed obstruction of justice did not conclude the President committed a crime, but it also ‘does not exonerate him,’ Barr quoted from Mueller’s report.” Trump’s presidency is no longer directly under threat from the special counsel investigation after nearly two years, though he still faces several other open investigations.

The DSA Endorses Bernie Sanders for President in 2020

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) officially announced on Thursday, March 20, an endorsement of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders for the U.S. presidential election in 2020. More than 13,000 of its official members or about 24% of its total eligible active membership participated in an online survey sent out on March 5th asking whether or not to endorse Sanders second run for the White House against Donald Trump. About 76 percent of respondents supported endorsement while 24% opposed endorsement. Read more in Duane Paul Murphy’s report for CMN.

Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’ Earns Biggest Debut of an Original Horror Film

Jordan Peele’s second original horror film Us has quickly become a blockbuster hit, earning $70.3 billion at the box office during opening weekend — the biggest ever debut for an original horror film and the biggest opening for a live action film since Avatar. The movie’s success is just another huge success for writer/director Jordan Peele, who earned critical acclaim with his first horror movie Get Out two years ago.

Apple to Announce Launch of Video Streaming Service

Today, Apple is expected to announce the launch of a video service that will bring the company in competition with popular streaming services, such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. The subscription service is expected to come in bundles, including original shows and movies as well as newspapers and magazines for three topics: sports, news, and entertainment.
