Where and How to Watch College Football Bowl Games

It’s that time of year again — bowl game season. Although a lot of bowl games have already taken place, there’s a lot more to go. Here’s where you can find the schedule of all the games, and here’s how to watch them. We’re most excited for the Orange Bowl (Alabama vs. Oklahoma) and the Camping World Bowl (Syracuse vs. West Virginia). What teams are you rooting for?

Trump Visits Troops in Iraq

President Trump participated in a time-honored tradition of visiting troops in a conflict area, with a secret trip to Iraq the day after Christmas. In Iraq, Trump defended his decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria, while allowing a U.S. presence to remain in Iraq, citing the continuing existence of IS militants in the country.


In politics…

Senate Reconvenes Today to Discuss Shutdown

In the sixth day of the partial government shutdown, the Senate will reconvene to continue the debate over $5 billion in funding for a border wall demanded by the White House. There are no votes scheduled for this afternoon, meaning that the shutdown will most likely continue until Friday, probably longer, leaving 380,000 federal workers furloughed and 420,000 working without pay. With a new Congressional term beginning on Jan. 3, there’s no telling how long the shutdown could last.

Australia Experiences Record Heat Wave

An extreme heat wave is hitting Australia during the country’s summer months.

Colin O’Brady Becomes First Person to Cross Antarctica Unassisted

33-year-old American Colin O’Brady has become the first person to complete a solo trip across Antarctica. It took O’Brady 53 days to traverse 932 miles across the continent, finishing the trip with a final 32-hour push.
